Massachusetts Turnpike eliminates tollbooths, cash payments

Oct 28, 2016 12:02 am
The Albany Times-Union reports that the Massachusetts Turnpike won't take cash for toll payments starting Oct. 28, with All Electronic Tolling eliminating tollbooths in the state. Overhead gantries and sensors embedded in the pavement deduct money from E-ZPass accounts or a camera will capture an image of a license plate and send a bill to the address linked to the plate. E-ZPass tag holders issued in Massachusetts get a discount, but everyone else pays full price, beginning Oct. 28. Read the full story in The Albany Times-Union.
