Measles worries decline at Bard College

Katie Kocijanski is reporting in the Register Star worries have subsided at Bard College since the report surfaced last week of a student contracting measles. Mark Primoff, Bard’s director of communications, confirmed the student is recovering while being quarantined to an unidentified building. Primoff said the student’s case of measles was not serious enough for him to be admitted to a local hospital. Dutchess County Department of Health Assistant Commissioner Sabrina Jaar Marzouka confirmed the department has immunized more 130 students, faculty and staff since the measles case was disclosed. She said no other cases have been reported. Officials at both the college and the Health Department said they will continue to monitor the situation. Read the full story in the Register Star.
