Surprise resident is Senate's sergeant-at-arms

Federoff of the Village of Surprise in the Town of Greenville, is the new sergeant-at-arms of the New York State Senate through 2012, State Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I – Oneonta, who represents Greene County) announced Wednesday. As sergeant-at-arms, Federoff acts as the chief security officer of the senate and, when called upon, aids in enforcing order on the floor of the senate, in the lobbies, and in the rooms adjoining the senate chamber.
