Greene County economy continues to grow
MidHudson News is reporting the New York State Center for Economic Growth has updated Greene County’s 2021 profile with the latest available data through July. Greene County in 2020 recorded New York’s sixth-largest increase in domestic migration. Business activity is also surging, with the county ranking fifth in the state for annual business formation application growth during the last five years. Before the pandemic, Greene County’s total employment had experienced strong growth. Despite COVID-19, that trend continued in 2020 as several sectors of the local economy experienced consistent growth, including construction, manufacturing, wholesale trade and finance and insurance.
