William J. Kemble reports in The Daily Freeman that $28.9 million came into the area's economy last year from movie and television productions, according to the Hudson Valley Film Commission. The group cites data from 30 of 60 films its says were filmed in the area in 2018. They say that 3,176 Hudson Valley residents were hired as actors or extras, and another 453 worked on film crews. The survey says 22,500 rooms were rented for film-related reasons last year. Part of the movie "Avengers: Endgame" was filmed last year at Mills Mansion in Staatsburg. Scenes from the horror movie "A Quiet Place" were also shot in the Hudson Valley. Read the full story in The Daily Freeman.
