Hudson BoE appoints Joseph Carr to open seat
Jun 25, 2013 6:48 am
More than one month after the annual board election, the Hudson City School District Board of Education voted Mon., June 24, to seat Hudson resident Joseph E. Carr for a one-year term. The seat was made vacant by the resignation of former board president Peter Merante in April. Carr, a retired maintenance worker for the district, took the oath and assumed his place on the board immediately following the vote. Carr was one of five candidates on the ballot in May. He finished third behind incumbent Tiffany Martin Hamilton and district science teacher Lynn Lee. As an employee of the district, Lee was unable to be sworn before July 1. Martin made the motion to appoint Carr Monday night, noting his term will end June 30, 2014.
