Chatham school board filled with issues

Jul 08, 2016 1:35 pm
Emilia Teasdale reports in The Columbia Paper that the Ichabod Crane Board of Education sent its Annual Professional Performance Review to the state for review after approval at the July 5 organizational meeting. The performance review was written with the teachers’ union's collective bargaining process and, if the state approves the plan, it will be posted on the district website, www.ichabodcrane.org. Anthony Welcome was also sworn in as board president at the meeting, his fourth term on the board. “This will be my last year as president of the Board of Education,” he said at the meeting. John Chandler was sworn in again as vice-president of the board, though Regina Rose and Jeffrey Ouellette voted against his appointment. Rose said, “It’s not personal,” but she didn’t like how he handled some issues. The school board meets next at 7 p.m., August 2 in the high school library. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
