Katie Kocijanski in The Windham Journal reports that Anita Buyers from Maplecrest presented a petition with over 200 signatures to the Windham Town Board Aug. 25 asking them to repair the Windham Civic Centre, the Presbyterian church building erected in 1835. Buyers said the event space is in, "desperate need of repairs and it has been called to the attention of board for months." The National Register of Historic Places in added the church with elements of Greek Revival and Federal architecture in 1979 to its list. Now the the Windham Chamber Music Festival is held there, but there are problems. "There was a terrible storm during the concert on Aug. 13 and rain fell into the grand piano," Buyers said. "Everyone was very upset, the rain came through the lights in the ceiling and hit people in the audience." The story also contains this sentence: "At its July 14 meeting, the Windham Town Board approved a grant funding resolution to have Delaware Engineering of Albany to submit a $35,000 consolidated funding application for the property."
