Ward named interim Hillsdale supervisor

Aug 13, 2020 5:45 am
Columbia-Greene Media reports that Councilperson Robina Ward was named interim Hillsdale town supervisor by the town board at an Aug. 11 meeting. Peter Cipkowski resigned from the position on July 27. “I would have been in favor of conducting a thorough search for candidates, but the timing of the resignation was so late that it made a lengthy search impractical,” Town Councilperson Steve Tiger said. Ward will serve in the role until at least Dec. 31, and a November election will decide who takes over after that. “I plan to hit the ground running. We are so lucky to have great community volunteerism in Hillsdale and I look forward to working with the community," Ward said. “I believe the job as supervisor, in addition with keeping the budget and day-to-day workings in good order, is to mobilize and focus the good works of our various town committees and volunteers. This energy is what has always made Hillsdale a special place to live or to own a business.” Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
