Coxsackie board grants Cypress Creek hardship waiver

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Coxsackie Town Board has granted Cypress Creek Renewables a hardship waiver, allowing the company to continue its plan to build a 2-megawatt, 15-acre solar facility on Murders Kill Road. Cypress successfully argued that the town's solar moratorium, enacted in December, would put the project in jeopardy. “They had proved their hardship claim based on the hearing and the documentation they gave us,” Coxsackie Town Supervisor Richard Hanse said following the board vote on February 22. While the moratorium remains in effect, Cypress Creek is exempt from it, Hanse said. Any site plans or further work on the project have to be approved by the town planning board.
