Mid-Hudson News Network is reporting unemployment in the Hudson Valley/Catskills region in July was down in all area counties, compared to the same month last year. Information released this week by the state Department of Labor showed Columbia County had the lowest rate of unemployment at 5 percent, down from 6.1 percent in July 2013. Greene County reported a jobless rate of 6.4 percent during the same period. Ulster County unemployment was down to 6.5 percent, and Sullivan County, which has seen double-digit unemployment in the past few years, was down to 6.6 percent.
