Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media residents of Catskill village are learning that Village President Vincent Seeley is returning from what he has described as a two-month hiatus from his regular duties. Seeley said November 5, that he has been out of state establishing a new business. He said the arrangements for his new cosmetics and health care company would be complete in December. Village Vice President Joseph Kozloski took the reins in September while Seeley was away. It is unclear when Seeley notified board members of his impending absence. “We didn’t vote on anything to accept his email or his leave of absence,” Kozloski said. In Seeley’s absence, business has continued as usual, Kozloski said. “We are still moving along, doing what we need to do for the village and village residents,” he said. While Seeley has been away, Kozloski is not voting on resolutions. Matters under consideration by the board are decided by the three other trustees — Natasha Law, Peter Grasse Jr. and Greg Smith. Catskill Village Trustees are paid $8,000 per year, according to the 2020-21 village budget. The village president is chosen by the board. Read the story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
