Governor Andrew Cuomo announced May 8 that the New York State Board for Historic Preservation has recommended 20 more properties and districts to the State and National Registers of Historic Places, including two locally. The Underhill-Acker House in Croton-on-Hudson and The Winans-Huntting Homestead, Pine Plains were both added. The Underhill-Acker House was built in 1873, and served as the home and medical office of Dr. Thomas Jefferson Acker, a prominent local citizen. The Winans-Huntting Homestead was built in 1774, and was expanded in 1810.
