Copake Planning Board approves Craryville gas station
Mar 08, 2020 11:45 pm
The Copake Planning Board voted 4-3 March 5 to approved GRJH Craryville gas station proposal. Chris Grant, Bob Haight, Marcia Becker, and Steve Savarese voted to approve, while Julie Cohen, Ed Sawchuck, and Jon Urban voted against the proposal. The convenience store and gas station at State Route 23 and Craryville Road, though, still faces legal hurdles as the activist group Save Craryville has filed two Article 78 lawsuits against the Town of Copake Zoning Board of Appeals and GRJH, Inc over the proposal. Activists from the group have opposed the gas station publicly mainly for environmental reasons.
