Jack Newsham is reporting for the New York Law Journal New York's chief judge said April 28, that recent law graduates who had planned to take the bar exam this summer will be temporarily allowed to practice law until testing delays and capacity constraints are resolved. The rookie lawyers would be required to practice under the supervision of a qualified attorney in the interim. Full details of the program were not immediately available, but the judiciary said law school graduates would be temporarily authorized as long as they pass their first bar examination no later than 2021 and immediately seek admission to the bar after exam results are released. Chief Judge Janet DiFiore previously delayed the state’s July bar exam to Sept. 9 and 10. Under normal circumstances, approximately 10,000 graduates would have taken the July exam.
