Early voting starts Saturday
Oct 21, 2019 12:23 am
Early voting begins Oct. 26 in town elections across New York State. Locally, Greene County has one location, in Catskill, while voters registered in Columbia County have three locations to vote ahead of Nov. 5: the county office building in Hudson; the Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building in Valatie; and Copake Town Hall in Copake. In Greene County, early voting takes place Oct. 26 through Nov. 3 at the Greene County Office Building, 411 Main St. #430, in Catskill. In southern Albany County, the Helderberg Ambulance site, at 978 Cole Hill Rd. in East Berne will be set up for all voters registered in Election Districts in Berne, Knox, Rensselaerville, and Westerlo. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church, at 85 Elm Ave. in Delmar, will be for voters registered in Bethlehem, Coeymans, and New Scotland. In southern Rensselaer County, the Schodack Town Hall at 265 Schuurman Rd. in Castleston-on-Hudson will be set up for early voting. To gain a political advantage, Republicans, in the majority in Rensselaer County, did not set up an early voting site in Troy, the county's largest city and home to more Democrats than GOP members.
