New York state officials have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the Lower Hudson Valley region, 11 a.m. through 11 p.m., Mon., Jun. 20. The region includes Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties. Department of Environmental Conservation meteorologists also anticipate that due to current ozone levels downstate, New York could experience high levels each day through the holiday weekend. Anyone, especially young children, who exercises outdoors, are involved in vigorous outdoor work and who have respiratory disease should consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity when ozone levels are the highest.
