Nov 15, 2020 6:33 am
The local number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise. On Nov. 13, Rensselaer County announced a daily coronavirus record with 32 new cases. There were ten new COVID-19 cases announced Nov. 13 in Columbia County, and five more in Greene County. Columbia County Department of Health officials warned residents Nov. 13 that anyone who attended a funeral at the Sacco Funeral Home in Greenport on Nov. 9, should monitor their health, as someone at the funeral tested positive for coronavirus. Albany County announced another new record Nov. 14, with 147 new coronavirus cases, their highest since start of pandemic. Albany County issued a plea Nov. 13 for volunteers to assist coronavirus response as local health department staff are "taxed at their limits." Albany County is looking for any health care professionals to join the county's Medical Reserves Corps to help during this public health emergency. Albany County officials are also distributing protective gear to Albany restaurants, to lower the record number of cases there. And officials in Pittsfield, in Massachusetts, are suspending dining at all restaurants starting Nov. 13. Takeout and delivery can continue. So COVID-19 case numbers are spiraling out of control, and officials are taking few steps to slow the spread, and the only hope is a vaccine that is said to be coming soon. But on Nov. 13, President Donald Trump said that the vaccine that is almost ready to ship, won't go to New York. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Trump went back and forth on national television on Nov. 13 on the issue. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD OR PLAY AUDIO OF THE TWO LEADERS.
