Resort moratorium challenged by developer

Kyle Adams reports in The Daily Mail the town of Cairo's moratorium on projects involving former resorts and motels has been challenged in a lawsuit filed by Meadow Fields Apartments. That moratorium, enacted June 27, prevents the conversion of former resorts and motels until the town's zoning laws are finalized. Meadow Fields was in the process of converting a former resort into a proposed senior housing center in Purling when the moratorium took effect. The developer is alleging the law was illegally adopted, and is asking the court to set that law aside. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
