Mountain Jam leaving Hunter Mountain

John W. Barry is reporting for the Poughkeepsie Journal the Mountain Jam music festival will not be held at Hunter Mountain this year. Gary Chetkof, the festival’s founder and owner of Ulster County-based Radio Woodstock, said details about a new venue will be released Wed., Feb. 6. The annual music event has been held at the mountaintop resort since 2005. The festival is also under new ownership, according to a post on the Hunter Mountain Facebook page. “While we are disappointed to see the festival move, we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the many supporters who made Hunter Mountain a successful Mountain Jam venue for more than a decade, including our loyal customers, the Town of Hunter and Greene County,” it reads.
