Scott out; former Cuomo staffer now Inspector General

Casey Seiler reports in the Albany Times Union that Gov. Andrew Cuomo replaced State Inspector General Catherine Leahy Scott with Letizia Tagliafierro last week. A spokesperson for Cuomo would not say whether Scott left of her own accord. Instead, Cuomo's staff released a statement from Scott that said, in part: "In his selection of Letizia Tagliafierro as the next Inspector General, I am confident the office's integrity and core mission remain in extraordinarily capable hands as I look forward to starting the next chapter of my career." Tagliafierro is a longtime aide to Cuomo whose also held the top staff job at the Joint Commission on Public Ethics. Read the full story in the Albany Times Union.
