News10 in Albany reports that Deputy County Executive Chris Meyer conceded the Republican primary for Rensselaer County executive on Sept. 18. State Assemblyperson Steve McLaughlin was leading last week's primary slightly. "It is with great disappointment that I have come to the realization that I will not be the next Rensselaer County Executive. Therefore I have decided to suspend my campaign," Meyer's statement said.
