Hudson to decide on LWRP soon

Apr 14, 2011 12:07 am
Carole Osterink reports in her Gossips of Rivertown blog from the Wed. Apr. 13 Hudson Planning Commission Meeting, that at the end of the session Cheryl Roberts, legal counsel to the Planning Commission, told the Commission that "in June or maybe May" the Common Council would be sending them the LWRP (Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan). "The Hudson Planning Commission and the Columbia County Planning Department both must review the document and offer advisory opinions about the zoning changes it contains before it can be adopted by the Common Council," Osterink writes of the first public announcement that the LWRP may be considered soon. The Planning Commission also offered an advisory opinion at the meeting, ahead of the Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing on the Galvan Partners proposed project for the corner of Union and First Sts. to be held Wednesday, April 20, at 6 p.m. The Planning Commission is required to offer an advisory opinion, and so, at Wednesday night's meeting, they announced that the project was not inconsistent with neighboring properties and would improve the streetscape, according to Osterink.
