Joel Craig to run for Germantown's top spot

John Mason reports in the Register Star Germantown Deputy Supervisor Joel Craig, a Republican, recently announced his candidacy for town supervisor. Current Town Supervisor Roy Brown, also a Republican, announced in January he will not seek re-election in November. Craig will seek the endorsement of Republican voters at the spring caucus. Republican Committee Chairman George Sharpe Sr. said the committee members -- Sharpe, David Crawford, Bruce Bohnsack and Joseph Phelan -- have been meeting with Craig. The committee said in a press release it was pleased to have a strong candidate for the position of town supervisor. Craig has served on the Town Board since 2008. He has been employed by the Dutchess County Office of Central and Information Systems for the past 26 years. Read the full story in the Register Star.
