Michael Ryan reports in The Daily Mail the Windham Country Club has been purchased by Windham Mountain. Ski slope Managing Partner J. Randall MacDonald and golf course president Russ Parry announced the transaction in a joint statement, Tues., Feb. 26. The purchase price is reportedly between $1 million and $2 million. The course will remain public. The course sustained significant damage during Tropical Storm Irene in Aug. 2011, when Batavia Kill breached and flooded the club's lower nine holes. The estimated cost for restoring the course range are $6 million and $10 million. Rumors circulated for months that Windham Mountain would take over the club, which was established in 1927.
