Catskill GOP, Hunter Dems endorse candidates

Ryan Anglim is reporting in the Register Star the Catskill Republican Committee held its caucus Wed., Jun. 3, at the Washington Irving Senior Center. More than 200 registered Republicans attended. The caucus endorsed incumbent Gary Carlson and newcomer Paul Vosburgh to fill two open seats on the Catskill Town Board in the November 3 election. The caucus also endorsed Shawn Beers for highway superintendent. Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail the Hunter Democratic Committee has chosen to endorse incumbent Town Supervisor Daryl Legg, Council members David Kukle and Raymond Legg, and Greene County Legislator Larry F. Gardner in each of those respective races. Gardner is a 32-year veteran of the county Legislature. The Hunter Democratic caucus was held Wednesday, with more than 50 members in attendance. The Hunter Republican Committee will hold its caucus later in the summer.
