Greene County Youth Fair announces schedule

Ryan Anglim is reporting in The Daily Mail the Greene County Agricultural Society has announced its lineup for the 61st Greene County Youth Fair, July 23 to 26 at Angelo Canna Town Park in Cairo. The Greene County Youth Fair is one of very few fairs in the country that offers free admission and entertainment. The event this year includes hundreds of farm animals, live music, entertainment, vendors, food, fireworks, rides and more. The fair highlights youth shows and exhibits, where area kids are judged and awarded ribbons for their livestock, agricultural projects and talents. This fair this year is dedicated to Legislator Wayne Speenburgh, who participated as a child in the county’s very first fair.





The entertainment lineup includes:




  • Vic & Sticks, an interactive family-music show, which encourages the children to be part of the band

  • Magic Matt Episcopo

  • Traditional troubadours Buffalo Barfield & Unheard Of Entertainment

  • The annual car show

  • Oxen demonstrations

  • A car seat check by the Greene County Sheriff's Office Friday, a dive tank Saturday, and a K-9 demonstration Saturday afternoon.

  • A Brooks BBQ Friday, and a Stewart's ice cream social Thursday afternoon.

  • Fireworks Saturday

  • A talent show open to all local kids and a pie-eating contest, Sunday.


WGXC Morning Show and Cymon Says! host Cymon Pagnani and other youth programmers will broadcast live from the fair at 9 a.m., Fri., Jul. 24.
