Ulster Dem officials call on legislator to step down

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting Ulster County Democratic Party Chairman Frank Cardinale October 4, called on county Legislator Hector Rodriguez to resign immediately after an independent investigation by an Albany law firm found that he used his position as a public official to make unwanted and inappropriate advances toward women. Cardinale called upon Rodriguez to step down from the county and state Democratic committees, as well. County Executive Patrick Ryan, also a Democrat, said had the actions involved any member of his administration, the findings would have lead to “a summary dismissal.” He said the New Paltz Democrat “violated the public trust, violated women, and is unfit for public service.” Ryan also urged the legislature to take action to condemn Rodriguez's behavior.
