State gasoline prices drop another 5.4 cents

The Daily Freeman is reporting gasoline prices continue to fall. The average retail price of gas in New York state fell an additional 5.4 cents per gallon last week. According to New York State Gas Prices [dot] com, as of Sun., Dec. 14, the average price was $3 per gallon statewide. In the Hudson-Catskill area, GasBuddy.com showed the price of 87-octane gas was in the range of $2.87 to $3.04 per gallon. The national average was $2.57 per gallon, down 8.3 cents from the previous week. A senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy said stations in 13 states were selling gas for less than $2 per gallon. The price in New York reported was nearly 66 cents per gallon lower than the same day a year ago, and 26 cents lower than in November. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
