Auditor chides Catskill for lack of purchase docs

William J. Kemble is reporting in the Daily Freeman a recent state audit of the town of Catskill's books revealed that necessary documentation was often missing to support purchases made in various town departments. Highway Department purchases lacked details necessary to trace spending on some items, according to Town Supervisor Joseph Leggio. He also said at the senior center, coffee is being purchased on a monthly basis, but no money is being turned in. Leggio said these issues have been brought to the attention of everyone involved, but the problems still exist. Leggio said corrective measures have been taken.
