Search continues for missing Chatham man

Arthur Cusano is reporting in the Register Star the weeklong search for a Chatham man is continuing, according to New York State Police. Benjamin Kaufmann, 33, left his residence the afternoon of Wed., Aug. 6, for a walk and did not return, state police said. State police, members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department and state forest rangers have been conducting an extensive search of the area off of State 203 in the town of Chatham. Kaufmann is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark-colored shorts and no shirt. Kaufmann was last seen by his family as he walked down the road near the family home. Anyone with information that could aid in locating Kaufmann should call the New York State Police at 851-3111.
