Ulster County Fair is back, county pool complex set to open
Paul Kirby is reporting for the Daily Freeman the Ulster County Fair is back this summer after it was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan. Ryan also said the county pool complex will reopen over the Independence Day weekend. The fair is now scheduled to take place from Tue., Aug. 3 through Sun., Aug. 8, at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz [PAUL-tzh], Ryan said. The county pool complex, which features an Olympic size swimming pool and two large kiddie pools, will stay open until Labor Day, September 7. Individuals not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when not in the pool and to maintain social distance when not in the pool."After an incredibly difficult year, we finally have a chance to celebrate and enjoy this summer,” Ryan said in a statement. “The Ulster County Fair is an event that is enjoyed by our entire community and I am looking forward to being able to have our fairgrounds once again be a hub of fun and recreation for all of our Ulster County families.” The Ulster County Agricultural Society board members and management team released a statement saying they are excited to welcome back the "...Fair family and supporters for a 2021 Ulster County Fair. ...” Information can be found online at ulstercountyfair [dot] com. The fair operators submitted a COVID-19 safety plan to the state Health Department.
