Tannersville Village Board increases water rates

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the Village of Tannersville has added a $25 flat rate increase to its annual water bills, both residential and commercial. At the village board meeting Tues., Feb. 11, Mayor Lee McGunnigle said there were three issues driving the increase: The cost of upgrading the equipment necessary to maintain the system and increases in fuel costs and electric rates. McGunnigle noted the board is examining various cost-saving options and ways for potentially improving heating and electric efficiency, possibly utilizing greener methods, he said.
