Cuomo taps Schoharie farmer for Ag & Markets

Jordan Carleo-Evangelist is reporting at Capitol Confidential Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has chosen Richard A. Ball, the owner of Schoharie Valley Farms in Schoharie, to be New York's next commissioner of Agriculture & Markets. The announcement was made Thurs., Jan. 9. Ball most recently has served as chairman of the tropical storm recovery efforts in Schoharie. He replaces former Commissioner Darrel Aubertine (AUH-ber-teen), who resigned in October to join Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s staff.
