Cuomo's approval rating up

Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential in a Siena College poll released Tue., Sep. 5, found voters now have a more favorable view of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo than they did in July, but his job performance rating remains negative. Overall, 56 percent of registered voters have a favorable view of the governor, up four points from 52 percent in July. Still, only 38 percent of upstaters have a favorable view of the governor, down from 44 percent in July. However, New York City and suburban voters’ views of the governor improved in the latest poll, exceeding 60 percent in both areas. Of those responding, 48 percent said they would vote to re-elect the governor to a third term next year. Forty-four percent said they would prefer someone else.
