H. Rose Schneider reports in The Altamont Enterprise that three teen-agers in Berne went before the the Switzkill Farm Board to build a track for radio-controlled cars on the town-owned property known as Switzkill Farm. Henry, 16; Jack, 15; and Luke, 13, Zelenak founded the Washed Out Radio Control Club, and now the club will create a racetrack and trail. “It’s like any other club in town,” said Karen Schimmer, a Berne Town Board member and the Switzkill Farm Board liaison. Town Supervisor Kevin Crosier said that the track will use natural materials with little impact on the park. Anyone can use the track for free. Read the full story in The Altamont Enterprise.
