Interviews are with journalist, actor and playwright Elisabeth Henry, who left her careers -- and New York City -- to raise five children, and Melissa Lasher, a single mom who works as a professional child-care specialist, a school bus monitor and full-time babysitter, while she raises three sons. Topics range from society's attitudes towards childraising as work, or its antithesis, the low pay allowed those working in these areas, the pain involved in losing a child and the glories involved in watching kids grow.
