Barrett, Kelsey Assembly race too close to call

Arthur Cusano is reporting in the Register Star state Assembly member Didi Barrett claimed victory late Tues. (Nov. 4) over her Republican challenger Mike Kelsey, but the close race may come down to absentee ballots. The latest results available had Barrett ahead by approximately 20 votes, with 99 percent of districts reporting. Kelsey acknowledged the race was close, but did not concede defeat. In other races, voters returned incumbents U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and Assembly member Steve McLaughlin to office by wide margins. Read the full story in the Register Star.
