Voters reject Roeliff-Jansen Library proposition

Joe Gentile is reporting in the Register Star two of three Columbia County towns served by the Roeliff-Jansen Community Library rejected a proposition to raise the current tax levy to support library operations, Tues., Nov. 5. Only the town of Hillsdale approved the measure; the proposition was rejected by voters in Ancram and Copake. Supporters of the resolution argued the current tax levy accounts for only 34 percent of the library's annual budget. Read the full story in the Register Star.
