May 03, 2013 6:55 am
Katie Kocijanski reports in the Chatham Courier the Chatham Village Board has adopted its new budget. The $1.14 million spending plan includes a 3.6 percent tax decrease for village taxpayers. Trustee Jay Rippel Jr. was the only board member to oppose the budget. He criticized the use of what he called inaccurate numbers. He said, “With the inaccurate numbers, we are not giving the people of Chatham the best budget possible." The new spending plan will go into effect June 1. In other business, the trustees appointed former Village Board member Joanne Del Rossi to the Zoning Board of Appeals. And the Chatham Area Business Alliance was granted approval to hold Summerfest 2013 on Sat., July 6. Read the full story in the Chatham Courier.
