Central Hudson warning of online scam

Dec 21, 2017 7:30 am

The Daily Freeman is reporting Central Hudson Gas & Electric is reminding customers that they should never share their account information or passwords with others. Charles A. Freni, the utility’s senior vice president of customer services and transmission and distribution operations, said a recent post on Craig's List offered a cash incentive to customers willing to share their Central Hudson user name and password. “Customers must be extremely wary of these solicitations and should not provide personal account information to anyone,” Freni said. Central Hudson is a member of Utilities United Against Scams, a national organization of utility companies working to help expose the tactics scammers use and help residents and small business owners protect themselves.
