Thomas Kaplan reports in The New York Times New York Democrats said early Wed, Nov. 7, the party is poised to take control of the state Senate following the election of several Democrats in critical legislative races, Tuesday. Republicans have not conceded defeat, and Albany watchers said it could be days before either party is able to assert control, because the Democratic caucus will include five members who have not ruled out backing Republican leadership of the chamber.
