The Albany County Legislature passed Local Law B, prohibiting waste burning in Albany County, on Aug. 10. Legislator Dustin Reidy reported on his Twitter feed that the vote was 32-7. The clean air law bans new waste facilities from establishing in Albany County. It also stops LafargeHolcim in Ravena from burning tires and trash, and Norlite in Cohoes, from burning any more toxic firefighting foam.
