School hosts Schodack candidate forum

The League of Women Voters for Rensselaer County and the Participation-in-Government students at Maple Hill High School will moderate a candidate forum for Schodack town candidates at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the high school. Candidates for supervisor, town board, and town clerk are expected to attend. The candidate forum is organized by the Schodack Planning and Development Association. Dennis E Dowds, running on the Democrat and Working Families Party lines, and David B. Harris, on the Republican, Conservative, and Independence lines, are running for Schodack supervisor. Two Democrats/Working Families candidates are running for town board, Stephen E. Van Hoose and Ryan V. Spelman, as well as two Republican/Conservative/Independence candidates, Scott P. Swartz and James E. Bult. For town clerk, Debra L. Curtis is on the Republican/Conservative/Independence lines, and Allison J. Curry Squires is a Democrats/Working Families candidate.
