The Daily Freeman reports that Radio Kingston Corp. began broadcasting WKNY March 26 not just on 1490-AM, but also on 107.9-FM. Jimmy Buff, executive director of Radio Kingston, said in a press release that "1490 AM has served Kingston well for nearly 80 years and will continue to serve this vibrant community, now through two frequencies and streaming online and our phone app." The station is using a new 300-foot-tall broadcast tower off Albany Avenue in Kingston, behind Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley, replacing the original tower from 1939. The nonprofit bought WKNY from Townsquare Media for $500,000 in 2017. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
