HVCC will require COVID-19 vaccinations

Spectrum News reports that Hudson Valley Community College will require students on campus to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to "comply with SUNY's vaccination policy for the fall semester." Previously, the school said it would not require vaccinations to attend classes. "Although our goal was to increase access and remove a barrier to higher education after an extraordinarily difficult time for many students, the college has decided" to require vaccinations, HVCC President Roger Ramsammy said. The college’s faculty association opposed the plan to let unvaccinated students attend classes. The new Hudson Valley Community College semester begins Aug. 29.
