The Premio Internazionale Arti Sonore (International Sonic Arts Award) has a Jan. 31 deadline for (paid) entries. But they also have a free download of the "Lontano: Homage to Giancinto Scelsi," and this show will feature tracks from the project.
1 a.m. David Ware Tribute Legendary free jazz saxophonist David S. Ware died Thu., Oct. 18. We will play some of his most amazing moments. There is a memorial for him Jan. 7, 2013 in Manhattan.
3 a.m.: Liminal Transmission Rebroadcast from Aug. 30, 2012. "Liminal Transmission" is a theoretical and experiential research-based project concerned with testing the limits of FM radio's frequency response (30Hz - 15kHz). Using tone generators and sound art works that employ frequencies situated along the upper and lower ranges of human auditory perception, this broadcast will probe the poles of the FM frequency response spectrum through a live experiment conducted on WGXC.
5 a.m.: Radia Doubleshot Two episodes of "Radia," including the most recent. "Radia" is a collective of international radio stations interested in new and forgotten ways of making radio art. Each week, one station in the group makes a show for all the others.
