MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting the latest news in the Ulster County executive race. On Feb. 18, Ulster County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach endorsed fellow Democrat Patrick Ryan for the post. With the endorsement, Auerbach ended speculation that he would run. Auerbach said Ryan “will take us into the next decade with his forward-thinking leadership.” The comptroller said Ryan “understands the importance of working through collaboration, consensus building and compromise.” Ryan and Democrat Patrice Strong are vying for the party's nomination. MidHudsonNews is also reporting Citizen Action of New York has endorsed Strong for the position. Strong “will bring vision to the county executive post,” said Lori Rhodell, a member of Citizen Action. “She plans to strengthen social programs, expand broadband access, and generate clean jobs in Ulster County.” No Republican has announced for the post.
