Greenville board candidates face off at forum

Candidates for election to the Greenville Central School District School Board participated in a forum, Thu., May 16, in the auditorium at the Greenville High School. The event was co-sponsored by the Albany County chapter of the League of Women Voters, and the Greenville PTA and PTSA. Thomas Connelly, Jennifer Warga Howard, and Steven King of Greenville, and Duncan Mcpherson of Freehold, gave opening and closing statements, and answered questions submitted from some of the 70-plus audience members for about 90 minutes. Maggie Moehringer, from the League of Women Voters, hosted. The top two vote getters win this election, replacing seats held by Jason Reinhard, and current President Anne Mitchell. Greenville resident Kristin Turon, another candidate, did not attend. The candidates are running for three-year terms that begin July 1, the same time Greenville High School Principal Michael Laster leaves for Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland, according to the Greenville Pioneer. The election is May 21, from 1-9 p.m. in the Greenville Elementary School cafeteria.
