Weekend songs from Greene and Columbia

Over the weekend, WGXC broadcast several live recordings of musical performances.
First, WGXC broadcast Sat., July 14 from noon-2 p.m. from the Athens Street Festival. Jess Puglisi and Ron Puhulski walked around the festival, interviewing folks and finding The Dented Fenders barbershop quartet in front of the Crossroads Brewing Company, singing the song "A Good Day." The Dented Fenders include members from Philmont and Claverack.

Saturday night, WGXC was live from the Spotty Dog Books & Ale in Hudson, where, Black Norse and It’s Not Night: It’s Space from New Paltz performed.

On Sun., July 15, Tony Fallon, host of "The Irish Show" on WGXC, toured the first day of the Irish Arts Week in East Durham, and recorded a song from a variety of players who came over from Ireland for the week of workshops and performance in East Durham. Irish Arts Week continues through Sat., July 21, and WGXC will broadcast live from East Durham Wed., July 18 from 7-9 p.m. He found many players at the Shamrock House in East Durham and convinced them to play a song.
